The podcast booth at Fernway has become a vibrant part of our Fernway students’ learning experience, fostering creativity, collaboration, and critical thinking. The Shaker Schools Foundation helped fund this initiative through an enrichment grant request from Alexandria Royal, Fernway’s IB Coordinator, for a Rode Podcast Mixing Board. And now, the power of student voices is making waves inside and outside the classroom.

Through thoughtful questioning and research, 2nd graders at Fernway developed essential interview skills while exploring the intersection of arts and literature. As they learned the art of conducting a podcast, it was clear that this creative process can transform student learning and engagement. The podcast project sparked curiosity and a passion for learning that extends beyond the classroom.
