Theresa May, SHHS Class of 2002

Our Shaker friends and community are invited to our upcoming Shaker Speaks: Shaker Travels the World on Thursday, October 17, 2024, 7:00 – 8:30 pm at the home of a Shaker residence.

Featuring alumna Theresa May, trumpet player and educator, as well as a panel of Shaker’s international travelers: trip advisor, Shaker parent, and student.

The event is $50 per person and is hosted at the home of a gracious Shaker resident. Only a limited amount of tickets will be sold. Tickets must be purchased in advance.

  • This event will benefit the International Travel Assistance Fund for Shaker Heights School students traveling in 2024-2025.
  • Theresa May, SHHS Class of 2002, shares her Shaker story as she takes us on travels near and far through unique music for trumpets and electronics.
  • A panel of Shaker students, teachers, and parents reflect on the educational impact of visiting other countries and cultures.
  • Attendees enjoy an evening of culture, cocktails, and crudités with an international flair.

Shaker Speaks is the Shaker Schools Foundation’s speaker series featuring cocktails and conversations with Shaker alumni in local Shaker homes. Address and directions for host’s home provided upon receipt of registration.

In 2001, I had the great opportunity to travel to Paris, France with the SHHS marching band. This trip ignited my passion for travel and revealed how music can transport me to new places!
